Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 8, 2026
Operator: Dragonrat LLC ("we", "us")
Contact: hello@storysprout.studio โ this is also the channel for parents to ask questions, or to request access to or deletion of their child's data.
Storysprout is a parent-facing app for creating personalised storybooks together with your children. It is intended for use by parents and guardians. Children should only use Storysprout with a parent or guardian.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, used for sign-in (including the 6-digit code sent by email). You may also sign in with Apple or Google; in that case we receive the identifier and email address those providers share with us.
- Child profiles: if you create a child profile in the Parent area, we store the first name and age you enter, plus the avatar and art-style preferences you pick, so stories can be personalised for that child.
- Content you provide to create stories: the text prompts you type (Say It), drawings you make (Draw It), and photos you upload (Photo It). Photos may include images of children โ only upload photos of your own children, and only as a parent or guardian.
- Generated storybooks: the stories, illustrations and videos we generate for you, stored so you can read them again from My Shelf.
- Purchase information: subscription status and entitlements (Free, Premium, Premium+Video) are handled through Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat. We do not see or store your payment-card details.
- Technical information: device and usage information collected by our service providers (for example identifiers used by Supabase and RevenueCat to keep you signed in and to recognise your subscription), and diagnostic information needed to operate the app.
We do not collect precise location. We do not use third-party advertising, and we do not sell personal information.
2. How we use your information
- To create your account and keep you signed in, including guest accounts you later convert to a signed-in account.
- To generate storybooks: your prompts, drawings and photos are sent to our AI processors (see ยง3) to write the story text and create illustrations or video pages.
- To enforce subscription limits: Free accounts can create up to 3 image books per month; Premium accounts can create unlimited image books; Premium+Video accounts can additionally create up to 48 pages of video books per month.
- Sharing: if you share a story, we generate a unique link (on go.storysprout.studio) that lets anyone who has it view that story โ its title, pages, illustrations, video clips and narration. If the recipient has an account, the story also appears on their Shelf as a reference to your copy. You can stop sharing at any time, which disables the link and removes the story from recipients' Shelves. Viewing a shared story never counts against the viewer's subscription limits. Because story media is delivered over the web, anyone who obtains a story's share link can view that story โ only share links with people you trust. Before you first share a Photo It story, the app warns you that anyone with the link can see the photos in it.
- To send sign-in codes and service emails.
- To process and restore subscriptions, and to handle account deletion.
3. Who we share information with (processors)
Your content and account data are processed only by the providers needed to run Storysprout:
| Provider | What they process | Purpose |
| Supabase | Account data, child profiles, stories, uploaded photos/drawings, generated media | Database, authentication, file storage |
| OpenAI | Story prompts and ideas; uploaded photos (Photo It); story text | Writing story text (with xAI, via Rork's toolkit), analysing photos to describe story characters, generating illustrations, and generating narration audio |
| xAI | Story prompts and ideas | Writing story text (via Rork's toolkit) |
| Rork | Story-generation and video requests | Routing AI requests (toolkit/gateway), including a fallback video route |
| fal.ai (Kling and Seedance video models) | Generated story-page images (which, for Photo It stories, are derived from your photos) | Animating story pages into video clips |
| RevenueCat | Subscription and entitlement status | Managing Premium / Premium+Video subscriptions |
| Resend | Email address | Sending sign-in codes and service email |
| Apple / Google | Sign-in identifiers (when you choose those sign-in methods) | Authentication; Apple also processes in-app purchases |
We do not share children's photos, drawings or prompts with any other third party, and we do not share data for advertising.
4. Children and parental consent
Storysprout is designed for parents to use with their children. A parent or guardian must create the account. Creating a paid subscription (a card transaction with a notification from Apple) is a verifiable parental-consent method for the paid tiers.
Guest use: you can try Storysprout without an account. Guest use runs under an anonymous session: you can create stories, including with photos, but your stories are not saved to an account or synced between devices, and sharing a story requires signing in first. Signing in keeps your books on your Shelf across devices.
A parent may at any time ask us to review, correct or delete their child's information by contacting hello@storysprout.studio.
5. How long we keep information
- Account and storybook data are kept while your account is active, so your books remain on My Shelf.
- Uploaded photos: your source photo is stored privately and kept while its storybook exists, because the book's character sheet and pages are generated from it. It is deleted when the book or your account is deleted.
- When you delete your account (in-app, Parent area), your account, profiles and storybooks are deleted.
- Subscription records needed for accounting or legal compliance may be kept as required by law.
6. Your rights
You may access, correct or delete your account data in the app (Parent area), or by contacting hello@storysprout.studio. Parents may request the same for their child's profile and content. We will respond within a reasonable time.
7. Security
We use the security measures of our processors (including Supabase's access controls) and limit access to personal data to what is needed to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change and will note the new effective date above. Continued use of Storysprout after a change means you accept the updated policy.
9. Contact
